OpenNyx is designed to boot and run seamlessly on virtually any Windows or Linux PC. Simply plug in your secure USB stick, boot from it, and you're ready to go – no installation required on the host machine.
RAM-Only Operation
For maximum privacy and to leave no trace, OpenNyx runs entirely in your computer's RAM (Random Access Memory). This means that once you shut down, all session data is instantly wiped from memory, ensuring complete data ephemerality.
Choose Your Capacity
OpenNyx will be available in two secure USB stick versions: a 4GB variant for essential privacy needs and an 8GB version for users requiring more storage for their encrypted files and applications. Both offer the same core security features.

Linux Base & Hardening
Built upon a minimalistic and heavily customized Linux distribution, OpenNyx undergoes extensive kernel hardening. This includes disabling unnecessary modules, applying strict security policies, and implementing Mandatory Access Control (MAC) frameworks like SELinux or AppArmor to restrict process capabilities.
Advanced Encryption Protocols
Every aspect of OpenNyx is encrypted. We utilize industry-leading encryption standards such as AES-256 for full disk encryption (FDE) with LUKS, combined with an easy-to-install setup process. Data in transit is secured via strong TLS/SSL configurations and automatic VPN tunneling before hitting the Tor network.
Forced Tor Integration
All outbound network connections are strictly forced through the Tor network, eliminating any possibility of IP leakage. DNS requests are also routed through Tor, and non-Tor traffic is blocked at the firewall level. This ensures complete anonymity for all online activities.
Instant Self-Destruction
The "Nuke" feature is designed for rapid, irreversible data sanitization. It employs cryptographic erasure techniques, overwriting encryption keys and critical metadata, rendering the entire system unreadable within seconds. This is a last-resort, but highly effective, privacy safeguard.
